I'm a newbie to this forum, but not to hot-rodding AMC Engines.

I built a 401 in 1999 with Edelbrock MPFI that was for a SB Cheby. I was trying to get custom chip from edelbrock and explained how easy the swap was. Just had to weld bosses on intake and machine fuel rails.

Anyway, WOW this site is great, best I have ever seen.
My 401 in the Scrambler has been running great ever since so haven't been looking for parts. Now I see I gotta have the timing cover, pulleys, oil pump bypass, alum. heads etc.

I've just bought a Jeep Gladiator with AMC 327 and thats my #1 priority. Looking to make the AMC 327 be all it can be.

I click on the IMG* button and won't let me insert pics.

Gladiator I found is clean & rust free:
67 J300 with 15,550 org. miles
AMC 327, factory PTO winch, HD44 & full float 60. T98Q 4 on the floor.

Needs: PS, AC & 4 wheel disc Hydroboost

I've want to have an intake from 304-401 adapted to fit this old motor and bench flow those old iron heads.

Welcome to the board. Lots of good AMC'rs and knowledge here.

Unfortunately, you'll have to use a web host like Photobucket to host your pics, it's not done on the board.

Red welcome aboard. The board waits a couple days and ten posts for you to be able to post pics...we had a rash of spammers this year so things changed a little. Cant wait to see your pics!

After getting the Gladiator and AMC 327 built up, I'm going to tear back into the 401 with everything Bulltear's got.
I did the oiling mods and considered the dual swinging pickup as I have AN fittings with stainless hose and endura fittings everywhere else on Scrambler, but no one had the oil filter adaptor plate and I thought the -12 90 fittings would hit frame.
So just got the Milidon pan, which fits terribly and leaks.

Guess this will count as post.

Bulltear Products (unbeliveable) and this site is the best one I've ever seen for AMC's.
Used to visit the AMC forum years ago, was nothing like this.

Thanks for the link's, I've never been a computer person until I realized how fast it could find & get old parts.
:(:
Still can't post pics of Scram, Glad or 327 yet... forum won't let a newbie, maybe Monday. i should have my 10 posts by then.

I've been on site all day reading........
Looks like some extremely knowledgable builder's on here.

What should I do for HP and realiability to the AMC 327 ?

I like to build it right and have good HP and be able to make a road trip without worry. Plan on getting an old school slide in camper and towing CJ behind the Gladiator to CO.

I hear ya, you're the face of Bulltear, and the leader usually determines the quality of support team.

From the products you are making I'd say you have an A+ crew.

Well I agree with Lifted - OUTSTANDING work on a J-truck AND a Scrambler :t: But with the quality of workmanship, I'd call'm what they are!! A FANTABULISTIC J2000 :t: or a SUPER Scrambler :!:

Really good looking rides =D>

Memories, that rail car bridge was fun. 71' long and 35' was hanging off back of lowboy. Good thing for cell phones, it took 8 of us on cell phones to look out for Roscoe P. Coltrane!
Weighs 33 tons and we got skid steer with 18" drill with 16' extensions. and 20' long by 4' deep header.

Scrambler- I worked 4 years evey night, at work finding/ordering parts and on weekends. There is not one bolt in rig that's not stainless. Most are ARP if any stress or show.
They're all ordered to leave 1/8" over after washer's & fastner.

Had a great time building (what a work stress reliever & TV is Lazy man's entertainment) and met wife in process, she helped and would cook for everyone and make sure we had a variety and plenty of BEER for everyone.

The Scrambler turned out way too nice, and beaters are definately more fun. I still use it as intended but nothing extreme. I ran 39.5 boggers and it did real well in the pits.
Takes better part of 2 days to clean, which I'm getting old and don't have energy for that.

Didn't have these awesome bulltear parts back then. I've installed junk yard timing covers with platique guage for last time. I'll also never sandblast and paint a pulley again.

I would like to see a serpentine belt system for the 401. I have a friend thats a machinist/enthusist and he works with Mori-Seki machining centers. He's a programmer and we spent alot of time desigining and measuring but toooo much brainpower for a one off system. We'd get deep into taking exact measurements and end up just getting drunk.

See my "Wanted" Thread and please ask any AMC guys that don't watch forum if they have nice parts to sell to good cause.

I've found all the AMC 327 AC pulleys, PS Pump brackets and idler arm. Maybe a 4 bl intake. Heard rumor of a tri-power setup for the Rambler? :knight: =D>

Still need an underdash Clardy or American Air unit. I got the super-fund just not the time to look anymore.

Someone dig up all the AMC ers' and find me one, PLEASE.
I've heard someone has a 18 wheeler full of NOS Kaiser/Jeep parts, like 50K worth at .05 cents on dollar.

Old School build on this Gladiator.
Got me some real nice Spicer Locking Hubs off ebby last night....red and chrome, the theme of Glad..

Just what I needed to keep the closed knuckle D44HD but convert to GM calipers, spindles, rotors, hubs...etc.

Guys over at IFSJ have been a tremendous help.

MC- congrats on the new machining center!

Still ain't figured out how to make pics pop-up.

Hey all, a guy sent me a link to this magazine where they've got a build on AMC 327.

I started my subscription to the new mag. beginning with October issue. (really like mags better than this here shiney screen)

Anyways I still hate computers.
Humm... maybe put a supercharger on one?
Naa--no noise.

www.olskoolrodz.com

Anyone got a 73-76 Chevy K20/25? Lookin for all front axle parts to do disc brake swap on Gladiator closed knuckle D44HD 8 lug.

Also info or parts on dual output PTO boxes, that bolt to transfercase (anything) for Ramsey circa 1960-70.
