Anyone know of a kit or maybe just size of coil springs I can use on my CJ7 to get rid of the leaf springs. I will be replacing the axles with Dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I ran Clayton's kit on my old TJ. Outstanding stuff.

Black Diamond used to make a coil kit for CJs. They may have discontinued it now that the CJ is over 20 years old.

Tomken Machine also has several kits, depending on which axles you use. Go to about page 8 of the CJ catalog. www.tomken.com

It started with just 2 guys with their own shop (Tom & Ken). Their stuff is VERY nice. I got a couple of chances to tour their shop and see some of their R&D rigs when I lived out there (Buena Vista, CO. Just a short hop for you Goose). You get the quality of low production, not mass produced junk.

They had a prototype manifold to bolt a B&M blower on an AMC V-8. I think it was just a modified Performer or Torker, but it looked cool. Guess they never started selling it though.

I saw the coil system when they were still testing it. It looked pretty stout. Pretty pricey though.

I just read the November issue of Petersons 4Wheel and Off road and on page 78 is a story on how to put coils under a CJ. Superlift bought Black Diamond and re-engineered the kit and it's now called The X2 Kit.
