Mc what would the ci be on a .120 over 304 ?Would it be worth while to do for a low rpm torque motor? Where can you get pistons that size? custom? And of course what power would you think is available in that size with appx 10-1 compression low rpm cam 260 or so?All you wisdom is appreciated thx Mike :t:

.125" over makes about 325 ci. You can do this using 307 ci small block Chevy pistons, although you will have to machine about .075" off the tops of the pistons and hone the pin bores from .927" to .930". 250 ci Chevy 6-cylinder pistons are a bit closer, but you will still have to machine .050" or so off the tops of the pistons and hone the pin bores to fit. Other than something like that, you will have to go the custom route.

Take it out to .125 and use 4.0 pistons at 3.875 bore dia and mill the deck to compensate for the .045 replacement gasket Org. 304 head gaskets were half as thick. Good write up in the AMERICAN MOTORS forum under topic 304 into the 12's. Been watching it myself for my 304 in my 72 jav. RANDY http://amccars.net/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1196569976
