I am looking to build an AMC 390 bored 20 over. I am running a set of hyper pistons at 10.5:1 compression.

I am looking to run the edelbrock aluminum heads with crane energizer roller rockers. Will these fit on the heads without any modifications? I am also going to be running a crane crankshaft (part number 864561) it has 232 int./242 exh at .050 lift. Will the edelbrock chrome valve cover (3" tall, clear everything ok?)

I am going with a full msd ignition using the new MSD box, distributor and coil. For fuel I am running the edelbrock electric fuel pump set at 6.5 psi and 120 GPH free flow rate with a Holley 4150 750cfm carb. The headers will be a set of Dougs 1 3/4 with ceramic coating.

For the oil system I am going to run the full BullTear oil system kit with a Milodon oil pan and pick up. I have also done the gallery oil by pass on the block.

WHAT I HAVE MISSED?? Or does anyone have any recommendations??

The car will be a mostly street driven 66 AMC Rambler.

Thanks

The intake should fit just fine. What year is your block?

Roll master timing set, improve oil drainback.

If within the budjet,
maybe consider Harland Sharp roller rockers in place of the Crane Energizer pieces.

Both brands of roller rockers fit under both the stock and the PAW chrome valve covers for me on stock heads.

Re-use the stock distributor gear and drive gear on the cam snout.
Be sure to install the sheet metal PCV baffle on bottom of new intake.
Port match the headers to the gaskets.
There is a modification that can be made inside the timing cover to improve oil drainback.
Some chamfer the holes in the front of the block to improve drainback.
Some drill some holes in the valley between the lifters to improve drainback.
Have the lifter bores checked for proper bore size within spec.
Some paint the tops of the heads and the valley with Rustoleum DampProof primer to improve drainback.
Be sure the pass side pipe plug in front of block does not obstruct oil galley behind the plug.
Confirm proper alignment and lack of burrs in all dizzy gear oiling passages.
Some block off, or use new style oil filter adpater that does not have the oil filter bypass.
Use new high strength ARP rod bolts.
Balance the rotating assembly.
Don't forget the crankshaft Oil Slinger before installing the timing cover.
Edelbrock is now also offering Aluminum Water Pumps.
Be sure large water pump bolts clamp before bottoming in block taps.
Confirm proper distributor end play and be sure to use a dizzy to timing cover gasket.
Use GM EOS, BullTear AMC HD Oil, Rotella-T, or racing oil that contains ZDDP.
Use a NAPA or AC Delco Oil Filter.

The block is a 69, but the intake has the enlarged holes in the center.
