I have a set of Venolia 12:1 forged pistons. They are old, a family member had them and never used them. They are for a 360, .030 over. They came as a kit with pins and rings, the pins are .930. But the pin holes are .929, any idea why they were done this way, there are no oil holes in the pistons to oil the pins. My question is, are the pistons supposed to be honed out to fit the pins? I have never heard of doing this, someone mentioned heating the pistons and freezing the pins. Any other ideas?

Sounds like they didnt match the pins to the pistons. A nice hone job will work.

Thanks jeeps4ever! :lo1l: How bout the oil holes? do they really need them? I have been told yes they do and no they don't. So I don't know what to do.

Back in the day you usually had to custom hone the pins to the pistons and rods. Depending on the piston design the pin may get oiled from the bottom if the pin is exposed. The old Dodges were like that anyway. :-|
