This may seem like a stupid question but I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere.
Can anyone please describe or better yet have pictures on how to properly assemble the torque arm and bushings for a 1977 Jeep CJ7 with a TH400 automatic.
I purchased a set of replacement bushings. But I'm not sure that how the torque arm was is correct. If I assemble the torque arm with one bushing below and one above the mounting arm there is about 1/2 inch of play between the arm and the bushings.
There was about a 2" round what looked like a body mount bushing under the bottom mount. I can't find this listed in any of the parts diagrams so I don't think it was supposed to be there.
My question is are the torque arm bushings supposed to be "tight" against the arm? Should I take up the space with washers under the bottom bushing?
Thanks
Alan
