I have a TH400 in a Javelin with a 3500 stall in it. I would like a 1500-2500 stall for street use.

I have the version with the adapter plate between the tranny and the block. Not sure if that matters or not.

I am looking for new or used or even a source to get one.

Please email me at adtarr@gmail.com since I dont check PM's very often.

Thanks
Adam

I think that is a pre 73 tranny a buick nail head tranny - amc went with there own bolt pattern in 74 to do away with the adapter

Thats the one. I need a torque converter and have been told a normal GM Th400 wont fit because of the bolt pattern on the flexplate. Which of course I don't know because its all bolted on and in the car.

Does anyone have any experience with this version of the TH400. They are actually Buick trannys with the adaptor to make them match up.

The big mystery at this point is in the flexplate which is a factory piece but I have no idea what bolt pattern it is.

Is the converter you have now a 10 inch ? if so then someone already drilled the flexplate for you, If it is a bigger converter than 10 inch then it would bolt right on anyway, the gm flexplates are double drilled and the amc ones aren't, and it's no big deal to drill them, anyway if you already have it drilled for the 10 inch, and your still looking for a 2500 stall, i have one i would sell.
