I would like to hear a bunch of different views on this one. What makes better low end torque, long tube headers or stock exaust manifolds? I have a set of fenderwell headers but am wondering if it is worth it to get a set of factory manifolds?

I ran fenderwell headers for years, until smog police forced me to return to a stock style exhaust to pass emissions.

With factory manifolds, I feel the torque is better from idle to about 4500 RPM, then it drops off a bit. For the rock crawling I do, I seldom run above that anyway. Also, the single 3" exhaust has NEVER caught an obstacle. I ripped several header mufflers off, and always had a problem with rust at the collector since the front tires threw all the mud and water there.
