I like dark, chewy beers. Particularly Porters and Stouts.

Guinness is always good!

Very good on a cold day. I do enjoy an imperial stout sometimes a good oatmeal stout

You'll evidently have not tried any Tennessee Mountain "Brew"...the Brew of which will set you free...so free it may take you days to find yourself...even when you were there all the time! :smileyinthejar:

I have had skullsplitter and liked it  I have also had some belgian brews that were around 10-11% and very dark! If you like a sweeter dark beer look for look for Lenys bittersweet rye ipa. Its a rye double ipa made by He'brew. comes in a big bottle and a friend might be needed to help but it is good :lo1l:

I have never tried it but my brother has and he said it screwed him up good for the rest of the night he may have talked to god but he couldn't remember what was said  It's pretty normal to drink it instead of sip it. But it won't take much "drinking" to figure out a mistake has been made! Most of what I see out there now is flavored shine and it is actually real good if you nurse it! I think N.C. makes the best! Your missing a treat if you've never tried it. You may never go back to splitting skulls again!lol!

Fave beer: Phillips Longboat double chocolate porter (local brewery)

Fave other: pretty much any decent absinthe. There's a ton of crappy distilleries out there, so it's hard to find decent stuff but it's worth it.

Ive tried a few chocolate stouts that were pretty good! Never had a chocolate porter

Everyone that can find it should try a Surly Bender.

Cold usually works for me, though I too like the Guiness and Porters. Amber Bock is fine as a make do, but hte best was the 1250 in Manchester. They go by specific gravity and not a name and 1250 is darker than Guiness I believe  A 1400 still has the chaff in it

I bet i poors like mollasses on a cold day in january too. looks like coffee with the consistency of maple syrup :lo1l: Most people can only handle one of those a night before they are FULL
