Well up until about 2-3 weeks ago my oil pressure had been fine. Now when i start the jeep and it is cold the pressure comes up to maybe 25psi. When i give it a little gas the pressure drops to almost nothing. once the jeep warms up this problem goes away. But overall my pressure never gets above 25 or so.

Could my oil pump have gone bad? It seems odd that this problem would just start out of the blue like this.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks
Pat

Make sure the relief spring is good & that the plunger is moving freely.

I'll bet the relief is sticking open. You might also want to change the oil filter.

well i changed the oil and filter. and i checked the spring and plunger, nothing seemed wrong there, but it may have unstuck itself when i took it apart.

Anyways so far i seem to have good pressure again!

bad filter maybe, bad oil, i dunno

Thanks
