I am finally going to put in my 401 in the next week or so. The 360 started geting some blow by and now I have it down to the frame for paint so nows the time.
Here are my specs.
-AMC 401 bored .030 over to 4.195
-Crank turned .010
-Fel Pro Gassket thickness .050
-Deck cleareance .002
-Stock Cylinder heads 58cc
-Forged Speed Pro pistons L2380F Forged .030 over and 9.8-1 compression with my heads.
-Holly Truck Avenger 670 CFM offroad carb
-Edelbrock Performer intake
-Stock Rods
-Stock rockers
I dont have a cam, or new timming cover yet and that is the last piece of my build. I have an almost new Edelbrock Perfomer cam for the AMC's for idle to 4500rpm. But the ABDC is 42deg. It puts my DCR at near 8.8. I want to run on no higher then 91 octane.
Do I need to go to a higher ABDC to get my DCR lower? What is the max or near max Dynamic Compression ratio I can run on 91 or lower octane?
thanks,
Mike
