Hi.
I put in a Proform Hei and it eat up my cam gear. So new MSD gears are ordered. My qestion are : i want to mount a extra oil line that oils the gears properly. Can i just conect it to the oilpressure sender unit an use tubing up outside the timingcover on drill a hole in top of it så the oil pours down over the gears. Or will i loose al my oil pressuere then ??????

MC will chime in there. But I think Proform uses a Chevy style distributor gear.

The problem here is that you used a new distributor gear with an unknown cam gear. There are at least 3 different known cam gears, all with different gear pitches. You need to replace both the cam and distributor gear together, or you should have used your old distributor gear on the new HEI.

Proform distributor gear = too hard. No need for extra oiling for cam gear. Lube line for cam and distributor gear is only used when running Milodon gear drive in the place of factory style timing sets.
