hi guy,
I would like a bit of help i want to go with a slightly bigger cam. Im running an mta1 off idle to 4200 rpms. I would like to get around 5500 to 6000. i had all the machine work cut the deck,shaved the heads,cam bearings.So can you guys give some imput on the cam i should get.Is there anything else i will need to do to the motor besides new cam bearing and valve springs.Note this motor has only about 2500to 3000 miles on it.

try engle racing cams. They probably have something on the shelf or they can grind to your specs. great guys to deal with they should be able to help you

Try straightline performance . They do custom grinds specifically for AMC motors. My last one was around $200.00 shipped.

All their cams are ground to order, nothing is on the shelf there except for the blanks. :wink:
Their Cryco/AMC grinds are also specific to the .904" lifter, they are not chevy/ford profiles.

Only thing about their grinds is to get the duration you will want to get into the 6k range, you will be exceeding .500" lift which is about max for stock stamped/bridged rockers. If you goto roller rockers, this isnt a problem.
