Cracked Flexplate?

I am getting a strange noise when I nail my Jeep from a dead stop or any time it is under load.

I sounds like a fan hitting the shroud, but I removed the shroud and the noise is still there.

It is a CJ7 w/401 - turbo 400. Could a cracked flexplate make a noise like this?

Sounds about right. The TH400 flexplates are prone to cracking, I've seen more than one go bad.
