Anyone have an idea of the horsepower a remanufactured stock low compression (8:1-8.5) 360 with a performer intake, headers and something like a Comp 268H cam would be making. Also would a set of edelbrock heads hurt or help a low compression engine? What carb would be good?
Thanks

My rebuilt 360 with 9.0:1 at 4,000ft above sea level averaged about 140psi ( I think that was 150psi at sea level). I don't believe any of the "other" items matter. Altitude does affect compression numbers. I would guess there is a substantial difference between 8.1 and 8.5 compression numbers.

Eddies will bump your compression and power up quite a bit. They also require more frictionless roller rockers when installing them so figure that into your price.

That's good to hear compression wise. I do have a set of Comp Cams 1.6 roller rockers too. This should be fun in my Gremlin til I do the 401.
