here is a 76 CJ7 owned by a friend of mine, we are doing a dana 44 from a postal jeep and changing the ring and pinion from 3:07 to 3:54..(oooohh) DOH!....LOL

Jack, the cool part is that the postal rear 44 is 1.5"s wider than a narrow track amc 20!!! And it hs the right offset!....LOL great rear 30spline (you know the good stuff)

that is sweet, I didn't know that, so it will almost perfectly match the dana 30 front in width. I always hated how the rear in my narrow track axles used to be narrower in the rear.

LOL Yeah, weve done it a couple of times, i am thinking about pcking up a couple of these rears and selling them here or on ebay, if i could only get a calling for them..!!! Hey guest, maybe you can register your name, we dont know who you are and dont want to confuse you with others

There is a reason for that. If the rear is narrower it will track better through turns. Looks a little weird, but you will see it on lots of trucks and cars.


That is a great choice for an axle. Sounds like spares are easy to come by.
