Hello to all!

I am installing a SYE kit to my NP231 transfer case (92 YJ) and was wondering if anyone could suggest a decent place to buy a CV style rear driveshaft for it?

We did the springs and shackles this weekend. Man, what fun!!!!

Any advise would be apprecieated!

high angle or tom woods, but you may need a yoke change on the t-case

The "SYE" is my Slip Yoke Eliminator kit I'm having a friend install for me this week. Advanced Adaptors brand.

TW wants a Arm and a Leg for theirs (Thursday they'd probably want a wing and a breast also :) )..I'm trying to find the best deal without sacrificing quality to do it. May end up with a TW shaft but want to comparison shop first!

Thanks for the reply!

I got the whole kit together, and just finished installing the SYE with a Tom Woods shaft. Don't be intimidated by the build, it's actually pretty easy. A couple things to look out for;
First - Take the front yoke off or at least losen it before you take it out of the Jeep - it'll save you from strapping it to the bench and wedging the yoke. Been there-done that :smile:

Next- When you press the gears out of the cluster - they don't go back in. The boss on the new shaft is larger (stronger) than the original.
OLD is on the left NEW on the right

Finally, dry fit the cases back together after you get the new tail shaft housing installed. and work the shift lever. The directions at the very end of the process tell you the shift shaft length needs to be between 1" and 1.25" inches. Mine was too long, but I had glued everything together before getting to the "check the length" part (step 14??). So I had to take it all apart, scrape the RTV off and cut just over an inch off my shaft to get it to fit.

All in all it's really easy. Make sure you put some assembly lube under the gears as you reassemble the cluster.
