I bought a book tonight entitled - "Torqueflite A-727 Transmission Handbook" with specifics on how to rebuild and modify A-727 Torqueflite for all applications....

I've always heard these referd to as the 727 trans..... is their a Significance to the "A" - 727 part.

On the back of the book it mentions something about an Alumnium 727.... this is a realy ignorant question, but I thought all 727s were alumnium..

Humbly,
Mike

Maybe the A stands for Aluminum? Not sure, but I thought all 727's were aluminum as well. Is this the book you bought?:

It says for ALL TF727 transmissions, so I guess you are OK. Also let us know how good the book is, and if oyu do rebuild the TF yourself, please post pics! I have a 727 that is going to need a rebuild sometime in the near future.
