Figured I would start a small thread for us Javelin owners, if there are any other ones on the forums that is... anyways, Not sure if mine qualifies as an Amc hotrod, but it does have the 401. which makes it fast...much like a hotrod, so yeah. anyways, here is my 72 Amc Javelin Amx.

Here's some of my AMC muscle.....

My first AMX was this '71 360 4-speed GO, with "TrendSetters", Machine wheels & the original Lee "ManHandler" tires, that I bought (in 1980), from the AMC dealer that sold it originally, to their body shop manager, who traded it back in just for me. Never smoked in or wrecked, 48,000 originals, IMACCULATE!!! It turned a 13.02 @ 108 thru full pipes, on street radials, with only headers, Torker, and Holley 3310, after breaking a traction bar on the holeshot and then running the bowls dry in third. I have a BUILT '72 401 and Nash/Richmond 5-speed (sold the DNE - need another one!!!) to go in it.
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/71_sil_4.jpg

My second AMX was another '71 with the 360 4bbl, 4-speed, GO Pak, optional Group19 R4B with the Holley, and headers. It was fun to get done cruising town in one, then hop in the other! (sold it WAY too cheap, Machine wheels and all for less than $1k. I did keep the R4B, they got the optional Holley.)
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/my_orng71.jpg

My first '69 was a 390 4-speed GO with 67k on it. It weighed only 2600 some lbs., fully stock, power steering and all. SOLD (it pushed WAY too easy)
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/grn692.gif

My second '69 is this rare (one of 274) BBO drag car (originally 390 auto) from Detroit that I am tubbing and caging. It has the SUPER RARE Hurst-Airheart discs.

http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/bbo-et.gif

My third was this rare (another one of the 274) BBO from Jersey. It had a fully ported, roller cammed STRONG 390, Nash 5-speed, 4-wheel disc, MW axles, Moroso Brute Strength posi, large sway bars, gas shocks, new wide American Racing Wheels Torque Thrust 2s with wide 50 series radials, MSD everything, and ALL kinds of other goodies. It was in the HotRod "Power Tour", out east, a few years back and dynoed 518HP to the rears. It turned an 11.2 through the pipes, on street radials, with all the sway bars and handling stuff. I stripped ALL the goodies off, put it back to stock, and offed for a several thou profit. (plus $9k in goodies)
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/x_01.jpg

I put the UR-18 and Holley 660 CenterSquirters on and took all the handling stuff off (gonna use it on the silver '71, done up TransAm) for some fun on the streets of Michiana. It is WAY FASTER with this intake!!!

Oh yeah, I had this '70 Jav SST 360 auto for a little while...

Hey Redemption, you may want to use Imagestation (http://www.imagestation.com/) to host your pics - it's free and so far I've seen it allows unlimited access....I went back to look at your pics and got this... "The owner of this file has exceeded their daily usage limit." And it's only 730 AM East coast time

lost my server - update coming
Hello

The silver one is my fav, too. it caught my eye sitting on the "Lechlitner AMC' lot (Goshen, IN) the first day that they set it out (fall 1980). It was only about the second one I had seen, I about broke my neck looking at it. I made a U-turn and about JUMPED off my motorcycle to get at it. The salesman who ORIGINALLY sold it came out to deal. They wanted $1,999.00 for it!!! I gave them $1,500.00 for it, forget the 90 day warranty (The other one that I had seen was a '71 "Pumpkin" 360 X, pic is a 401...
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/71orng2.jpg in about 1976, it was my girlfriend's brother's, he wanted $1,500 for it, but I had a 68 Camaro 396 and a 67 Camaro convertable, ma said no!) The next 60,000 miles were fairly trouble free. Rebuilt the 360 at 120k when the cam bearings let the oil pressure stay low. The 360 went into the Jersey BBO in place of the 520HP '69 390 (w/70 ported heads). The 390 will be getting the 72+ 401 crank, then attaching on to a full-race 727 and into the Detroit drag AMX, along with the tunnel ram, about 500HP of NOS, and tons of other goodies.

That Jersey car looked real good from ten feet, but had some inner door panel and under package tray (etc) cancer from the coastal salt air.

Here's a link to my BBO w/Black stripeshttp://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/fr_bbo.htm page.
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/x_proj12.jpg

I've also been working on an AMC parts and interchange page:
http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/amc_pi.htm

ANYWAY, I didn't take many pics at all in those days. Some day she will come back out with new silver paint, a hot 401 with an STR-11 (somebody find me one!), Doug Nash 5-speed, 4-wheel disc, as close to a championship winning TransAm car I can get it. I sold the black LEATHER interior for $500, thinking on using a cage and two racing buckets. May have been a boo boo!!!
Here she is today...

http://home.comcast.net/~dhoelcher/amc/my/poorold71.jpg
Oh yeah, I also have a '71 Jav SST that will be losing a foot of wheelbase some day. Too many projects, not enough of the necessary resources. (I have a totally complete, dirty, Pierre Cardin interior for it or for trade on, what-have-you?)
(some plans may change, now that I saw that INDY aluminum crate engine!)

I all but forgot, I had a '70 Javelin SST with the high compression 360!!
