My Dad and I are doing some work on his M715, we have it stripped to a bare frame now abd are going to start putting it together....using a sbc 350, sm465, and probably a np 205. any down sides to this?? We have 40" boggers on it now and a 12000lb pto winch we would like to keep. Any other good things/tricks to do as long as it is taken apart this far? Just using it for pulling jeeps out of the mud basically. thanks, Matt

Its just like your basic 4x4 buildup, You can run a 10" superlift (chebby) springs in it, they are super close. Man lots of advice, let me know what your working on and i may have a few ideas for ya'! :t:

well we are going to be converting to PS probably using all wagoneer parts that sound right?..also need some linkage for np205 anyone got a shifter?

:t: I put PS in a 715 I was working on several years ago, came out of a 72-76 Impala. almost a straight bolt in. Used the steering column also for the shifter, Ign. switch and turn signals.

The nova or chevy boxes have a high ratio turning radius, not the best on the trail but very flentifull and cheap

The larger GM cars and trucks would probably have the stronger steering boxes. The style 76. Looking at them the most notable difference in them and the others are that there are 4 mounting bolts. On the other styles, there are only 3 bolt holes. There is a space for the 4th but no hole. I think 82 was the breaking point Where GM started using metric hoses.

Just thought I'd mention that this is a 700R4 and not a TH400! (can't tell if it's the 4L60 or 4L80E yet)

Can you tell me if those rear M715 fenders unbolt from the bed... as in could be removed and bolted to a JTruck Thriftside box?

send an email to john@wagoneers.com or wagoneers.com@comcast.com if you want new flared fenders. The M715 fenders are somewhat different.

Yeah, John's flares are just for the 2nd series Sportside. I did find a good pic of the M715 bed and the flares are welded on. Seems like they could be copied easy enough and have flange rolled on the inside of the radius to use as a bolt on for a Thriftside though. That would make a pretty neat looking Thriftside with M715 front fenders, might get some big meats under those!

find yourself some super thick old 45 gallon or bigger barrels and cut them down for fenders (I did that for my '67 Ford stepside I had)
