304 intake?

So, what intake would you guys reccomend for a 304? Keep in mind that I work at Checker, so price will be a major issue. Motor is in stock form, I'm just looking for a little more grunt.

Edelbrock performer idle-4500 (?)
A 500cfm carb or a 600 jetted down a bit

You will see vast power inprovements from that setup, Like we discussed in the store your 304 has a great ability but the apsiration just isnt there from the factory, opening it up involves a change in carb and intake...Also headers wouldnt hurt...well maybe you ears :mrgreen:

I don't think that anything I could do to the exaust could make it louder, the factory exaust is all there, except for the rusted-out sections right below the manifolds. That and the fact that the manifolds come out right in front of a couple of the many rusty holes in the floor!

I looked up some parts at work,

Performer intake: EDL - 2131 $180

Performer 500 CFM: EDL - 1404 $220


After my discount, it'll be about $300 & change


I anyone knows anwhere to get them cheaper, or if anyone has any used equipment, that'd be great. Though, $300 bucks for the pair sounds like a deal to me!
