Blame the Arab's and the GREEDY American auto insurance industry. Those two killed AMC.

it does favor a mustang coupe doesnt it? but I do blame the end of the muscle car era on insurance companies

My eye sez," '65 Riv meets a '68 Cougar." Humble opinion, Abernathy did more to kill AMC after falling off Romney's 'niche' plan and then half-baking most of the product that was to 'take on the "Big 3"'. AMC had many strengths in their product and an almost cult-like following of devotees (here we are in 2005 still lovin' 'em) and had they been able to fully R&D(constant capital shortfalls since Romney's departure) every aspect of the vehicles, they would still be here today and be the American answer/alternative to Toyota. 111!!! :idea:
