Now that, when I started reading it, sounded FUN.
But then I read Zamisch's descriptuion of that Run... and all I can say is "EEEK!" :!:
I've pushed my Jav up past the 120 mark on her speedo and that was just Effin' SCARY!

190 is just... NUTS!!!!! (The phrase "Big Brass Shiney Ones" comes to mind..)

Interesting machine that Great White. As well as the Defender.

Not that, when I started reading it, sounded FUN.

I don't see an "edit" button anywhere & I felt this needed correction in order to make sense..
Should read "Now THAT, when I started reading it, sounded fun"

[Fixed it for ya. Mudrat (moderator). Now you have to go VOTE HERE (http://top4x4sites.com/cgi-bin/arp/rankem.cgi?id=MCfrom) ]

Tony has the white Defender Javelin for sale. Here is his website.
http://www.amx-perience.com/california_classic_amc.htm

I have dealt with him on alot of stuff and he is a super great guy to deal with. Both on his parts and just his technical experience.

You can see all kinds of vintage race Javelins on my site.

One of our AMC club members, Jim Weyand, has a Silver State certificate for 180+ in his 68 AMX. He probably could have gotten close to 200, but 6th gear broke in his gearbox and he ran the last mile or so in 5th (speed is averaged over several readings on a 5 mile run).

It's a neat AMX, single 4BBL, well built 401, 6 speed, 3.15 gears. It's still street legal, and he drives it around town.
