I'm trying to find a half way decent method to get rid of the casting seam on our Rods.

Currently I'm using a drill press with one of these mounted in it, and just running the rod along the bit

But I have already worn a place in the bit, so it no longer cuts a smooth line.

Where would you reccomend that I look to find more of these? Should we be looking at Tungsten Carbide, Diamond?? I'm looking for anything
I dont mind paying $30.00 for a bit, if it will last me through 3 or 4 engines, so what's that like 8 rods each, 3 engines , 2 sides per rod
48 passes... sure I'll pay $30.00 if it will last that long.

JLIndustrial.com sells them for about 26$
Other places are selling them for under 10, and Northern's pirces are under 5.... And the northern bit is the one that I have been using, and destroyed already.

What would you suggest? Or where for that matter too?

thanks in advance,
Mike M

Flapper wheel on a die grinder.
Second the suggestion to go lengthwise.
