:well usually its the vaccum to the transfer case that causes it not to go into emergency drive, try spraying some wd40 in the tubes on the transfer case that the vaccum lines attach to. or you may have spun a hub, check to see if your bolts on your front hubs are still there if they are you can take both sides off to see if you destroyed the splines, remember that in a stock jeep dana 44 front end the strength of the INNER splines iis only marginal and over time plowing with them will cause them to wear, twist and then you have no 4wd because of the open differential in the front, check these things out SNOWS COMING...good luck
