Anyone know if the AMC 20 backing plate bolt pattern is the same for cars and Jeeps? I am looking into going with the big brakes that came on the Jeeps for my Gremlin.
Thanks

axel bolt pattern might be a problem jeep was 5 on 5-1/2
Backing plates are the same, drums are different. I don't know if you can get 11" drums with the 5 on 4.5" lug pattern for the gremlin.
For nearly the same money, go to somewhere like TSM ( www.tsmmfg.com ) for a set of rear discs.

Thanks for the heads up on TSM. That is a nice option.
I have a TSM kit on the back of my CJ, combined with a 4 wheel disc master cylinder from a Corvette. Even with 37" tires it stops very well. I live about an hour from the TSM shop. I was able to pick up my kit in person, and tour their shop.

Bob,
Did you have to use an after market proportioning valve? If so,
was it fairly simple to get adjusted?
thanks Eric
I'm using the factory disc/drum proportioning valve. I just put it together and tried it, and it worked OK. The only time I get a rear tire lock (before the front) is if it's icy. Otherwise, the bias is quite good.

Sounds good - that would be easier for me.
Check Summit for their Ford Racing brake drums. They are 11" and have the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern. Randy
