Ok, on the bottom of the gears theres two dots. What are the importance of these dots? Do you have to align them like timing sets? or does it just mean that it is the bottom of the gears?????? :-|

They are there from the injector pins that push the molted metal into the mold and also vent the air out. No need to clock them.

I just want to say thanks everyone for all the info I needed during this build! It's my first AMC and won't be the last either. I have plans already starting for the 360 stroked to a 401  :? Im gonna run this 304 for a lil while and then start the build on the 401 and then ill be able to show them dumasses what AMC is all about! 8)

I bought a Bulltear NI coated timing cover a year or so ago and I was wondering what I need to do to convert to the new style gears. I hear you can't just drop them in. Do I send the cover back to them for fitting?
No we will need your idler gear for machining and $20
So I should pack up the cover stuff a $20.00 in box plus return postage and send it back to you?
I have a bunch of old front covers, do you use them as cores or do you only start with new ones?
I took a couple of 360's and 401's apart and the covers look decent. Are they always a throw away, neaning a new cover should always be used?
No need for al lthat Joe just the idler gear (The gear without the long shaft). No need for a return box.
Do the new BT HRC Oil Gears need anything done to them when installing into an old timing cover?
No prepping is neccesary
