Its neat to scan and we do have probing capabilities on 2 of our CNC mills but when there is so many efficiencies to add to a part why start from the original (speak in behalf of BT) Otherwise its a neat toy.. Couple that with a $40,000.00 3d printer from ZCorp and you are $44K from making a sand casting of whatever you want.
so for under 100k you could basically have your own small parts foundry couple that with your machine capabilities and you could basically build you own anything :!: (Do I smell a Bulltear all billet 500ci+ AMC engine?) :?
those z corp machines are pretty cool, although they are a pain in the butt and expensive to run. engine block would be a little outside the size capabilities of one of those guys though
