leaf spring clamps

are there pros and cons to using leaf spring clamps/bands ? the original ones on my cj were broken and I am curious to know if they help or hinder suspension travel/operation

The clamps will limit droop a bit, a lot of Jeepers open them up or remove them.

The down side it that without them the leaves can move independently. Under power the leaves will separate and cause wheel hop, especially if you're SOA.
