I seem to remember some older powermaster starters were shipped with the wrong gear for AMCs. It might be worth a call to powermaster. Did you keep the plate between the block and bellhousing? It...

The auto application is how the factory crank is machined. You'd still have to install a pilot bushing in the adapter for a standard trans.

amclives.com still sells the adapter, it's $329, so you may be better off sourcing a flywheel. https://www.amclives.com/collections/adapters-and-related

AMC V-8 heads are known to crack at the lower front and rear corners if not torqued correctly. There's a sharp point in the casting. Between cylinders has to be a gasket problem. I doubt a few...

the fittings are 1/8" pipe thread. On AMC cars that had both a light and gauge (2 senders) they used a brass nipple and "T" fitting. You should be able to come up with something at a hardware...

It could be that the pressure relief valve is stuck. There's a big nut on the oil filter adapter. Behind it there's a spring and plunger. Make sure the plunger moves freely and that it faces the...

Mine used a Ford filter, I believe a Fram PH8A or equivalent.

Probably not a pump problem, but a pickup problem. I would suggest an oil pan with a bigger sump (maybe Canton), or modify your pan with some baffles in the bottom. On a steep climb, the oil runs...

What kind of mileage on the engine? Under 100K, slap on a quality filter and fresh oil and you're good to go. Not much you can do short of a rebuild if oil pressure is low due to high miles.

An extra quart in the pan, or an accumulator couldn't hurt. Edelbrock heads shouldn't make a difference. If it's not doing it often, you're probably not doing any damage. You just don't want to...

You didn't say, which model Milodon pan did you add? You really need the deep sump with the extended pickup. The high clearance pan for road racing will do no good in an off-roader. The problem...

Double check all of your power and ground wires. My 360 powered CJ had the same issue, turned out to be a poorly crimped lug on the end of the ground wire. Where's your battery? Still under the...

I've heard the 258 pistons are the same as 304. The problem is finding someone willing to break a set to get you the 2 extras. Time and cost considered, you might as well just get a custom set of...
