Scout axles

What is all involved in using scout axles under a cj? I still haven't decided what I'm going to do, those seemed like a good alternative.

I am going to be doing the same thing. For the front you have to grind off the inner knuckles and rotate them to 7 degrees of caster and re-weld them back on. Other than that i think it is Fairly straight forward. ANd maybe move the perches. I know with a YJ frame everything lines up almost perfect. With a Cj frame you may need to outboard the springs. I have not fully researched it yet. ANd figure i would figure most of it out when i finally pick up a set of axles

I'm not a huge fan of the Scout 44 front. Reason being that even though you get the bigger ring/pinion, inner axles and axle u-joints, you still have the outer stubs and external hubs that are IDENTICAL to the CJ Dana 30. That will still be your weak link. When I researched it, since the knuckles had to be rotated for caster anyway, I decided to use a GM 44 housing which also had the spring pads for SOA (wagoneer will work for SUA). I cut the housing for Jeep widetrack, then used Wagoneer flat top knuckles, 74-75 Wagoneer spindles, and Ford F150 rotors, which allowed me to use the bigger outer stub shaft and internal hubs, plus it all mounts with the springs in the stock location. I love the setup, and haven't broken an axle or u-joint since installing it about 4 years ago.
