Hey WT - I won't ever call you that! An Avatar is the little picture that shows up to the left side under your name and wrench rating. BAsically it is a thumbnail picture of whatever you want. Mine is the crossbone smilie, PYAGID changes his as does MC.
To put one under your name, format a picture that you want to use, make it 80x80 pixles in size and either store it or link to it from your profile page. The AVATAR area is at the bottom near the place where you can add a signature.
