    transy swap?

    have a 304- 3speed t15 and a 20 what is the easyest swap to do for the tranny 3rd gear is toast

    if you could find a T-18 with a short input shaft or even better already out of a Jeep. It will bolt up to your 304 and dana 20. And you will have a 4 speed then as well. Most of the other trannys that are strong enough have a dana 300 behind them

    I suggest you use a T-18 out of a Ford truck , they are bullet proof , 6.32 1st gear and you are able to keep a reasonable drive shaft lenth .From 1976 to 1979 the CJ-5's & CJ-7's use the Tremec T150 transmissions with the 304 , those transmissions have the same bolt pattern as Ford . Advance Adapters makes an adapter that adapts the T-18 to the 20 .
