    1965 Gladiator

I am going to look at a gladiator tonight. The owner said it is a 1965 has the newer grill on it though. Also says it has a Buick 350 in it, Dana 44 front, and he said he thinks a dana 63 rear. Does this sound right? He said the axles are 5 lug axles on it. I know i have been told to stay away from the Dana 61 axle but what about a 63? and how could i tell which it is?

I thought that the older trucks that had the buick motor had the 61 rear, I could be wrong, but if it has the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern that is what I would think it is.

Paul, what are you going to do with it??

    Part it out??

I know a CJ that would be really cool with a Buick 350 in it. Straight swap I think. [-o<

ok I looked at it. The guy was asking $800. Motor started up very quickly and sounds good. It had a slight valve tick. The rear was a Dana 53. and front was a closed knuckle 44. Frame was in excellent shape, bed was not bad, Rockers were gone corners had bondo and The drivers side floor was gone. I could not get to the passenger side, but from underneath it looked good.

Erik you would not be allowed to take it home

I wouldn't be allowed to take what home, the whole truck or the engine.

I thought you might be looking at it for parts.

    Later.
