    Hey Jim

You have a nice little collection! I am too trustworthy as well sometimes leaving my keys in the jeep...

I actually started into AMC's with a 74 Wagoneer. Couldn't leave it alone. In no time, it had headers, Crane Fireball cam and a 750 Carter AFB.
Afterwards, I switched to Eagles. Couldn't leave them alone either. Bored the 6, tossed in 290 pistons, ported the head, Crane cam, header, Offy competition intake and a 550 Holley. For the ignition I ran an MSD with a programmable timing computer.
When the 90's came in, I switched to an 89 Xj, stroked and bored, custom grind Comp cam, a 1 of a kind 67mm throttle body with a Mopar Perf controller. Basically, I turned it into a 15 second "street Jeep" taking it into the semi-finals in the AMC National's.
My current rolling unfinished project in a 13 second Ambassador 4 door.

    Hi Jim
Any of this sound familiar under another name?

ya it does..........The Gremlin was my first real modified AMC....I am however thinking about putting together a stroker to go in our 67 Rambler or in the 81 Spirit for a sportsman race car( 14 sec and slower local) ....my stock 360 in the Gremlin ran in the low 14's I think a stroker could get there too!!!!!!!! I bought the Spirit as it is now....it runs in the mid to upper 16's.....but putting something in an older body would be better...........

After we lost the new 68 I found a used 68 290/4spd with 4.44 gears in the rear...ran it real hard for two years and then went to a 69 390 Javelin....for a year or so and then out of AMC's for a few years.........

    regards, Jim

THose are good numbers too when you consider that the altitude has you at about a 10~15% power loss.
