Well I thought I had it all planned out,but then I keep running acrossed better parts and better ideas. I have kicked around the idea of an automatic, and actually have a couple, but to me it ain't a Jeep if you ain't shiftin' it.
I have a pallet rack in my barn and one whole shelf is dang near a whole Jeep in pieces(all new except for a scavenged grill). I still need a few things like a wiring harness, seats, and alot of time.
I have alot of used parts I will be getting rid of and I will be parting out the 89 Grand Cherokee. I'm also going to pick up a J10 this weekend that I will be parting out. So if you need anything let me know.
Meanwhile, I will look for a T-18 if you think the T-176 won't hold up.
    Thanks for all your help.

If your going to rod it at all the 176 won't hold up long. Long enough to find an 18 but don't wait to put it together. and Yeah, I know just how finding "something better" make the program last longer

Been doing it a long time - but you know more about machining than I do so we'll call it square.

Ok here Goes, I'm Ken and I'm a Jeep-aholic also a chronic wise guy, I'm one of those corporate burnouts from colorado, System programmer for the aerospace and casino industries. One day hit bottom took my retirement and bought an over the road truck spent five years on the road seeing the country as a paid tourist with my wife. now living as a mild mannered Tube mill Tech In rural nebraska (You have seen Valley center pivot irrigation systems out in the field? I make the pipe from sheet steel)

    I have wasted a signifigant part of my life rebuilding old Jeeps about 2 dozen at this point.. currently I have a 77 CJ-5 w/304 an 84 J-10 w 360 and a 72 CJ w/258.
as well as having a small street rod addiction and old motorcycle restoration problem.
I also do a bit of high power rifle shooting and Cowboy action shooting.

And I owe it all to a VERY understanding wife.
