My future plans are to CC the chambers - Right now you're seeing them at 62 CCs.

and then Flow the Heads for flow numbers and ordering a Cam.

    Best regards to all
Out to prove that AMC is still one of the best around!

They all look good except for this one, the porting has a great advantage in AMC heads when you port behind the valve and matchport for gaskets. The porting behind the valves look good but the port for the gaskets looks like it could use a little work. The advantages of cnc porting are on the flanges and would be very accurate here. Good luck and please post your results...Looks great so far!

Good to hear from you again MC.... and I apologize for being absent so much.

The gasket porting has not been done yet, but I agree it is critical as well.

I will do intake gasket porting as soon as I get a Carb, and Intake combination chosen. And then upon having the gaskets I will port match the intake to the heads.

Tell me your opinion on this:
I understand that swirl is a big factor of how well an engine runs... how would it be to Rough up the inside radius of the Intake port. With the idea being to slow down the air going around the short side, and that it would rush by the high side... Creating a Vortex into the cylinder..???

    Note on swirling:

    1. swirling does increase the efficiency of the combuction resulting in.
    a. more power
    b. better fuel economy
    c. lower running temps
    d. higher/faster burn rate

    2. Mixing is usually done in the intake manifold priory to entering the cylinder with some of the final mix as the piston moves to tdc.

    3. The swirling effect is different for EACH piston type, EACH deck height, EACH valve angle.

Yes you may be able to increase it by adding grooves....you may also decrease it. Its a million dollar research project that Nascar is doing.
