I really enjoyed that cam while it was in. Very good balance of torque and HP, I thought.

I just replaced it with a Crane truck cam, and haven't had a chance to try it out much yet, but it seems at least as good.

Desktop Dyno 2003 says the Crane is up a few ft/lb of torque at low RPM on the Summit, but the peak HP is just about identical.

MC, I think it's possible the oil relief holes in the back were both supposed to go thru the bearing journal. I also can't see where it would make much difference. But my lack of knowledge/experience in this area may be showing, too.

I just installed one of the Bulltear timing covers, the nickel plated one, and had to hone the tips of the oil pump gears in order to not scrape the walls of the pump cavity. Pretty tight there! Oil pressure is excellent, we will see if she stays together.

the numbers should be closer than that. the way this cam is wearing it
looks to me that the cam would wear out very quickly and unevenly
causing a nasty mess in the engine bay.the crane was a wise choice.
would be interested in the numbers after the same 7000 miles are put on
    this cam.

Rollen the numbers are better than stock ..most of them. Canshafts wont wear even. The difference between the best and worst are around .003" Thats dang good for a cast camshaft. We are lucky they hold .007 (which would be accurate for a cast of this type)
