    # casting on timing gear

the timing set i am using is an edelbrock. i 've had distributor drive gear problems 4 in less than 1000 miles. changed parts even the timing set, last time i found the fuel pump ecentric wasn't flush with the timing cam gear. there was a casted # on it , the key ways lined up where the casting was protruding .030" out not allowing the ecentric or the cam gear to mount flush. has anyone had this happen ,or heard of it. i ground the 0 of the timing gearand fits fine now. hope thats all it is. thought i might make others aware of it. brad
