    FSJ axle swap

I have noticed on a lot of info on the FSJ axlec swap that you several options as far as the front , cutting down or outboard mounts but on the rear everyone says cut or move the perches to match. wouldnt you want to go with outboard mounts on the rear to help keep it stable front to rear or does it matter ????? The swap i am doing is on 72 commando wich i have been told is equivalant to a cj5 . any info at this point is helpfull before i confuse myself any more than i allready have.

If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't matter. The front needs to be outboarded due to where the pumpkin sits, nothing to do with stability. The rear it is just plain easier to move the perches than to outboard the springs there as well.

Its been some time since the question was asked, but I think the Commando frame is the same width in the rear as a CJ7,CJ8,CJ5(76-83).
IF IT STILL STARTS DO IT AGAIN!
