    '95 Wrangler - 4 wheel drive engagement

    just purchased use '95 Wrangler - 4 wheel drive does not engage - can shift into gear, however, does not bite - if I hold gear shift pressure, I can feel gear trying to engage however it pops out of gear without pressure

    what is possible cause, serious?? - John

    Get a haynes manual. Sounds like either the front vaccum actuator is not working right, or you have an extreme case of linkage adjustment on the shifter.

    yea man sounds likeyour actuator is busted. that happened to mine not to long ago and they had to replace both of the vaccumes(at the t-case, and at the front axle) it close to 300.00, or you can search pirate4x4 i believe for a write up on a hommade posilock that works pretty good, and costs less then like 20
