    T-18 in MJ or XJ

Has anyone done this? I am thinking about putting a t-18 into my MJ. The one that i have is out of a 1986 Ford F-150. Has the 6.32 first and an NP208 t-case.

Measuring the shift lever location next to teh AX-15 i have teh T-18 would need to come up through the floor about 7" foward of teh t-18 This would put it just about where the ashtray is.

I think with a slight bend, and removing the ashtray it should work with no problem. Has anyone done this? or am i going to be a guinea pig. My other concern is shift linkage. Should I just mount an external slave and use a tradition clutch fork and throw out bearing? I think this would be the better way to go than trying to find a hydraulic throw out bearing that fits teh t-18 input shaft.

    any input is appreciated

Hey Paul I remember a while back seing a Grand Cherokee in JP I think (on the cover) with a 360, T-18 and I think it was a Dana300. It was light blue with the back chopped of, sort of making a mini bed.

You might look for the T-18 input shaft, bearing retainer, and spacer from a Wagoneer or Jeep truck T-18. That would space the T-18 back about 6", and it should install in the Ford case so you could keep the 208.
