    external pump line

first off, sorry for all the newb questions. Im rebuilding my blown 360 and I want to get it right. So I feel the need to ask alot of questions.

Here it goes. I just got a new oil pan, canton 7 qt T style pan. The pan has a threaded bung on the passenger side looks like 3/8s and a fill plug in the front. Now I got to investigating some, and the oil pump has this long nipple extruding from the front with a threaded cap. Can I run a line from that to the bung in the oil pan? And what will this do, good/bad or just bad idea?

PS...The engine will be used purely for offroading. Does BT have a phone number to call and ask questions on parts and for ordering or is it stricktly online?
