Got a job offer in Atlanta today....

Anyone live there? Just wondering about the cost of living. The job is in Norcross GA at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast. I would be staying with the same company...

Yeah, sounds pretty good so far - I think I'm going to take it. Would be a 25% raise with good possibility for promotion, so I am pretty stoked. In addition, they would pay off my current lease with my two roommates (have a lease until the end of October).

The hotel is a 3 star hotel right now, but is teatering on 4 stars - that's were I would come in. From everything we talked about today, the job would start June 1.

The only big catch do far is that the hotel is currently up for sale. The management company I work is running for some owners who are wanting to get rid of it, and my company wants to buy it (since they know the property is a good purchanse). As of right now, they have the highest bid, so I guess we will see what happens. The down side? If the deal falls through and they don't buy it, I would relocate somewhere else. Basically I would be living in a hotel for around a month again.

So in short, I am going to turn down the job offer in Norfolk, as well as the gig Williamsburg. I also just turned one down locally in Virginia Beach. Man, a couple years ago, I was begging for a job, now people are calling me from out of the woodwork!

All I know is that I think I really want to get out of VA, and Atlanta is a lot closer to my GF in Knoxville, TN and my family in Nashville TN. Although I would REALLY miss the beach if I move!

Thanks Paul! That one is better than the ones I was looking at! I tell you what, apartments and houses are soooo much cheaper than a house right at the ocean!! Looks like the cost of living is the same, though, so I am getting pretty stoked....
