Oil FIter bypass Saga

We finally figured out the problem......




My Dad the housing off his motor and all there was was a open hole....nothing there at all...so the filter has just been bypassed this entire time.

He had never looked at another one before so when the motor was originally apart, there was nothing there to be missing, or look funny.

This is the history of the Motor...we pulled it out of a CHerokee Chief
The original motor was either a 360 or a 401 and the PO swapped in a 304 then that was not good enough so he pulled the electronic distributor and replaced it with a points Distributor



Hope this all puts a smile on your face....i know my dad is happy now that he has good oil pressure in his new jeep
