    what gauge steel are used in replacemt ....

    was wondeing if anyone knows what gauge steel is in brand new fenders , rear 1/4's, etc for FSJ's ? I spose there are different brands , would love to know what brands have what Gauge ?

    I'm sure it will go by years too. The older the rig, the thicker the metal, 16 maybe even 14 for the late 60's early 70's?. My 85 CJ came with 18 gauge I replaced the panels with 16ga galvanized and put the 'step' on the inside so I could fair the outside body lines.
    I haven't gotten into the body work on my 85 Waggie yet.
