    360 Conversion

I've started putting an AMC 360 into my CJ and wanted to get some headers for the engine before it goes in. The engine is an 85' I think. Its going into an 80' CJ. Any reccommendatation for headers. I want a good price / performance option. I heard 'Doug Thorley' is the way to go.

No matter which brand you go with, if you use fenderwell headers (the ones that go outside the frame, behind the front wheels), spend the extra money to get alumacoated, or Jet-Hot coated ones. The splash off the front wheels was rotting the collectors out of cheapies every couple of years on my CJ. I bought Blackjack alumacoats, and they were still good after 8 years, definitely worth the $100 additional cost. I finally had to go back to stock manifolds because of local smog laws. I guess I got old too, because I don't miss the noise.
