I've been reading the previous posts regarding strokers. There is a lot of interesting stuff in the "Stroking a 401" post. Actually, there is more than I can use. This question has been discussed to some degree, but hasn't really helped me. What I want to know is this: What needs to be done to put a stock 401 crank with 401 rods into a 360 block besides custom pistons and block clearancing? My thinking is that all one needs are pistons speced like 401s but with 360 bore diameter. Will the 401 balancer be correct in this application? Or will a custom one be required? I have 360 blocks around and none of the 401s I can locate are useable. Servicable 401 cranks are available along with rods.

The 401 that I swapped into my '87 GW that has an Edelbrok Pro-Flo EFI is nearly ready to start. The last issue I have to deal with is the fuel pump. I have had to be very creative on a number of things to change from a 360 2BBL to 401 EFI.
