    Forged steel crank failure

Hey Ralph, you think this would cause an oil pressure problem?

Crank from 401. PO put on a new oil pump to "fix" the oil pressure problem. would you believe this engine actually ran with a busted crank. Not very well however.

Hey Tarrior, you are in my neck of the woods. I have the block and rods from this engine and they are fine. Obviously, I need a crank to rebuild this puppy. Would you have a line on a 401 crank or know someone who needs the block and rods?

I have a 390 crank that I paid too much for, I could certainly use the block and rods. PM me.

This seems to be proof of the old saying.."Give an Idiot a Rubber mallet and a sandbox and they can break anything".. The cool part is it actually still ran..sort of the ultimate "It got me home"Story.

Don't know how tight it went. This was in a Jeep Wagoneer. And, it was really trashed. Oil pan had scars. Offroaded very hard and put away wet.
