hi
i am setting up a 401 drag motor. i have the 534 tri-flow adapter and
will plumb it to a remote filter. i realize this adapter removes the factory preasure relief valve, and i assume the motor will need one. has anyone added a remote relief valve. all info appreciated.

No it has a pressure relief valve but not a oil filter bypass valve. If you run this motor to high rpm's without it warming up you may pop a line or a oil filter. If you install a oil filter bypass you shouldnt rev it up either when its cold or you will open the bypass. The 534's have a place for the spring and plunger just like the stock adaptor
